what kind of movies do Gays like?

Question

Do you watch movies that consist of gay plots or relationships?
Do you watch movies that strictly have gay actors/performers for example Elton John, Rosie O'Donnell, Anthony Perkins, Rock Hudson, etc?

Katie...I am not an ignorant or idiot. There are so many sterotyping "all" society so I was curious. I watched a movie the other day that surprised me. Someone assume that Black people listen to rap or watch Black Cinema even play only Basketball. I was curious what kind of stuff the Gay culture liked. This question was intened for gays only not any outsiders and it wasn't an idiot question. Nor made to make fun of the gay culture.

I am a horror freak, vampire and zombie movies for me. I will watch a good movie if the actors/plot are gay or not.

You're reversing a busted equation. It's not like that.

"Hetro" guys are stereotyped only liking certain stuff. To a lesser extent "Hetro" women, too. Those stereotypes become real for a certain large crowd and it's painted on to everyone.

From what I've seen/experienced GLBTwise, in the search for self you ideally throw all garbage away. It's very liberating.

Like the couple I lived with: one guy was into horror and the other was into history & culture. But the freedom was neither had to be "guy" and boo-hoo a wonderful drama or something. ("Gay" or "Straight" actors not withstanding.)

And I can promise you there were more then a few of us at the San Diego Comic Con watching all the movies you'd expect. :) People are just people.

I like any good movie, really. The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Chicago, I, Robot, the Terminator films, TITANIC!!!!! Cinema Paradiso, the Stepford Wives (both the new and old one), Gone with the Wind, Spidey 1-3, Batman Begins, etc. etc.

Just because I'm gay doesn't mean that I only like gay-themed movies. I have *yet* to see Brokeback Mountain, and I only got halfway through Monster.

I am a huge science fiction and anime fan. But I do like several well made movies of almost any genre. If you are looking for some good "gay" flicks try.....Victor/Victoria, La Cage Aux Folles (and The Birdcage, it's remake of sorts), Too Wong Foo, and In and Out. All very enlightening. I have yet to see Brokeback Mtn, so cannot recommend it.

I will only answer this in hopes that someone who loves movies as much as I do gets a crush on me. LOL
I love all types of movies, and yes, gay-themed movies can be included. They are not, however, the only genre I like.

My faves are: Wet Hot American Summer, Strangers with Candy, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Ichi the killer, Versus, Barbarella, Secret of NIMH, and A Dirty Shame.

And adult gay anything with Matthew Rush WOOF!

As a gay I like all kinds of movies. I do like ones with gay plots, but I enjoy ones with hetero overtones too, lol Sometimes a gay actor just happens to be in it. Sometimes I see gayness where others see straightness or something. Slash (gay fanfiction) is around because of crazies like me who think characters like Sam and Frodo are way into eachother. Though, come on! They totally are!

I enjoy action movies, sci-fi/fantasy, horror, musicals, drama, comedies, b-movies...etc. There aren't too many genres I don't like.

Gay, straight, bi, whatever, we all have different tastes in movies.

Lots the same as you, and everyone else,
but it is nice to see one where all the players
are not str8. I would like to see more movies
that at least feature some gay characters, in
a positive light, (not just someone to laugh at).
Because we are members of society too, and
we're not "dirty" or "abnormal".
Look what a shock it was when Rock Hudson
came out. He was the epitome of manly stardom.
It would have been nice if he could have
portrayed a few gay characters in his prime,
because that's what we are...just like everybody else!

Exactly the same movies as everybody else. Sure, it's great if you've got a couple of engaging gay characters, but since that has only happened, like, ONCE in the history of Hollywood, we watch movies made for straight people. We even understand them, and follow the story and everything, amazing as it may seem to you.

I perfer to watch the old time films onf Turner Classic Movies, the days of the 40's with flicks from Warner Brothers, MGM, Republic and RKO.

Why would I restrict myself to watching movies only with "gay plots or relationships"? That's completely ridiculous.

I like many kinds of movies and genres, not just "gay" ones or movies with gay actors in it.
