I am a huge Barry Bonds fan....as an athlete. I have followed him since he came into the league and he has always been an incredible talent. Even before the steroids accusations he hit homers, stole bases, and won gold gloves. Remember, Barry has never been proven guilty of roid use or HGH so even though I believe he used something we cannot accuse him any more than I can accuse any of you of using something. Steroids dont increase talent. Barrys incredible bat speed and hand eye coordination are unmatched. That is not a product of steroids. Steroids help with conditioning and endurance to get through a grueling season...which Barry completed many of while weighing 185 lbs. Let's be honest, most players use something illegal. The difference between the players is natural talent. Barry is perhaps the most talented player of all time. Now as a man, I have never met him but I have read many books and articles on him and I would say he is kind of an @sshole. I realize that since he isn't media friendly we will be force fed a majority of negative stories but even so he seems like a prick. That's fine. My praise for him is strictly as a baseball player.

Greatest player of all time. To all those of you out there, stop crying Ruth. He did plenty of drugs too, alcohol, tobacco and all sorts of other things that were legal in his day.
To date, Barry has failed as many drug tests as Babe Ruth.
Even before his alleged steroids spurt, he was the best player in the game. His 3 mvp's in Pittsburgh is enough of a resume' alone. Add in numerous times in the 30/30 club and the just misses. Bonds may be the only ever to go 500/500 for a career.

Barry Bonds never liked the Media ever since he was a boy. Because of this he has gotten a lot bull that really has not been proven and the guys like Sosa and Mcgwire who have admitted to the act are praised. The Media doesn't like AI, Kobe and some others and they all get so much negative words because of it. While likable characters such as Jason Kid who beats on his wife and cheats on her constantly never is put in the same light.
Plus during baseball season there is nothing else for these guys to talk about. infact they are real happy to report on Vick right now without him it was just be borrowing sports pages through out the US.

I don't think he is a "nice" man and he certainly doesn't treat people very well, including kids that come up to him for an autograph. The only praise I would give him would be for his skills as a baseball player and the great career he has had.

Barry Bonds is a good man. He doesn't care about the media. He doesn't care about his Home run record either. He still give 100% effort at his games when his coaches decide to play him. Who cares if he used steroids? Many other players used steroids and nobody hates them.

You're right! I've met him personally at work (EA Sports) and in our neighborhood before he left for Beverly Hills. He's definitely genuine and a nice person.

Until he is convicted under a court of law i will continue to give him credit where it's due. Even if he did use steroids around 2000 or so his statistics where already Hall Of Fame numbers.
