I have scratched car surface that i want to protect from rain. Will duct tape keep it safe until I get that fixed from auto body shop?

Duct tape will protect for a short time (a few days at most) and then will start to come off. Plus, you'll have all of that adhesive on the paint surrounding the scratch.

If it's only a scratch, it would be better just to leave it alone until you get it repainted.

i would advise against it especially during the summer.the sticky back of duct tape will stick to your paint if its been it the sun for just a few days and when you peel it off you may have more damage than when you started.i recommend you find out what your paint color code is and then go to your dealership and pick up a small bottle of touch up paint and use it till you can leave it in the body shop...i hope this helps you good luck....

I prefer Ardvark tape but it is hard to find... seriously just touch up the scratch with some paint that is close to the same color with a small brush or q-tip

honey there isn't a job too big or small for duct tape...it is the supreme fix it above all others

I would say you should prep it and throw on a little primer. Yeah it will make an eye sore, but it will push you to get it fixed faster =)

soap ,nail poish, car wax, all would be better than tape and they make touch up paint most auto parts stores carry it

SURE IT WILL BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THAT STICKY ADHESIVE THAT WILL START COMING OUT.
