ALL THE TIME some people can't get off their backsides for long enough to do anything, yet begrudge your bit of fun. Hope you had a great time - have a star, I hope it cheers you up ;o)

Usually, they do it because they really don't care about how it makes you feel. As long as it doesn't put them out of the loop with others, most people aren't compassionate towards others, and they may be jealous or something to that effect. It happens to me all the time, but I think I must be sensitive and maybe you are too.
Personally, good for you for going to Dublin and I hope you had fun while you were there.
Don't let people get you down too much, once in a while you meet somebody who cares and you'll feel all the better for having met them and having them as a real friend.
Good luck in life.

Don't understand their problem!
A weekend in Dublin sounds lovely - not everyone wants to go to St. Moritz for a month!
I LOVE weekends away - much more of an instant fix (you make sure you enjoy every minute!) and leaves you not bored with with where you've been and happy to go again if the chance arises!

Sounds like they are envious or they have some self esteem issues. Or they hope to drag you down to their level of unhappiness- just because you had a great weekend in Dublin. Ignore them, hon.

This does not happen to me, these people are not true friends and are jealous!
Wow you went to Dublin I have never been there, did you go down Grafton St?
How much is a pint there now, these are the sort of answers they should be saying!

It's called jealousy. People try to put others down when they are jealous and insecure with themselves. But then too, sometimes when someone brags alot after a while it gets old too.

I don't know if this is similar to your situation, but it is true in mine......... these people are full of hatred, have vicious tongues, and a superior attitude toward others. Wherever they go, a spirit of strife is all around them. They are intolerant of compassion in others. I am a forgiving person and sometimes am confronted with these hard-hearted, obnoxious and rude people.

Yes, that happens to me quite often. The key to dealing with people like that is to consider the source.

People who constantly put others down are dissatisfied in their own lives and this unhappiness leaches out in what they say. Just remember that the next time someone does it to you and pity them.
