I have read several articles that say the McCann's left their children every night and on some nights went to a bar on the beach called the Millenium bar which was 800 yards away. If their daughter had got taken when they were 800 yards away on the night previous when they were in that bar would you still think there was an eliment of doubt that they were not too blame ie as they keep on saying dinning at the bottom of the garden?

Fionabtoo are you mad? Set up like their living room you must be crazy they were 100 yards away across a swimming pool. The question I actually asked was when they were out boozing the night before 800 yards away were they still in the right? As for none of my business, whilst its on my TV everyday and in my face and the McCanns are running a campaign I have every right to my opinion.

Why can't you people let this story die? It's really pathetic. It's also none of your business.

If you saw this in an article i.e. a proper, source-checked piece written by a journalist employed by a reputable news organisation which is accountable under the laws of at least one country for the accuracy of what it publishes, would you please post a link to that article as published on a functioning website?

If you cannot do this, I will be forced to conclude either that you read it the same place I did - a bulletin board on the Daily Express site (which is to say that it was posted by an anonymous individual who might not be able to be traced and who does not have to authenticate their information in any way) or else that you read it somewhere like here in a post written by someone who read it in the former place. In either case, it is clearly sensible to treat the information with extreme caution.

Good point.

I think the possibility that the child wandered out and drowned in the ocean is still the most likely scenario.

The McCanns are soulless, empty, self-serving people. My guess is that their parents gave them the same callous, uncaring treatment. When they get back to Britain, I hope they are charged with child endangerment and jailed for a few years, where they can contemplate proper childcare techniques.

If they left their children every night and dined even further away then that puts their answer of "it was just like being in the garden" as rubbish. It makes them even more accountable. No normal parent would ever do that. I think for some reason they are never going to admit their accountability in this whole sorry affair. I cannot say anymore on the subject and hope that madeleine is returned safely.

I don't think they were to blame. That place was set up like a family villa. It was like they were in their living room. They don't strike me as irresponsible people. And my heart goes out to them. I think the people who took their child would have taken her no matter what or where.
