Angelfish are nearly impossible to sex accurately. Occasionally fully mature males will show a bit of a nuchal hump, which is a bump on the head just above the eyes. However, don't count on it. If you want to establish a mating pair, the best way is to purchase half a dozen immature angels and raise them together. you will be sure to get a pair in there somewhere, my female has a 'dip' in her nose tho and the males doesn't, I have friends with angelfish as well and there female resembles mine, good luck, there're a hard one!

Males usually have a shorter and diagonal on it's underside (the space between the ventral and anal fins), while the females have a straight (more horizontal) and longer underside. I use this method when I am buying unpaired matured adults and works for me around 90% of the time.
