I don't think so. Sounds too much like what a car enthusiast would name their kid. On the bright side, sort of, if you do name her that and she has a fat friend you could call her friend mini van. Just my two cents. Good luck.

I like the name Portia, it is a welsh name which means offering and it has been around a lot longer than the Porche car. This is also a derived from a Roman family name Porticus, and is the name of a character in Shakespears The Merchant of Venice. Very classy to me not slutty. (unless you knew someone by that name that is slutty.)

Portia is a name that can easily get a child teased in school. I will never forget "Portia the Porcupine" or "Portia is poor".

I like it. As long as the Portia is not raised to be a brat or spoiled, she will turn out fine. (As long as she has morals) Haha. At first I read it and thought "poor-dia" sounding a little bit like portible. :]

I absolutely disagree with Leo, it is a family name of mine and I love it. My husband said it reminds him of the car but since its spelled differently I dont think so. I love old fashioned names! I think it is great

I don't care for it much.
