They'll tell you it matters, but they don't mean it.

I find it annoying that people would insult others because they lost a job. Illegal do take away jobs, because the employer don't have to pay for workers comp insurance and create a reasonable work place. Yes illegals do work harder. They work 10 hours but get paid 8.

As to your question, Hillary and Obama don't really care. There a couple of Republican that does promise to solve the Immigration problem, and they seem to be concern of White collar workers as well. They are unlikely to win. If you lean left, you might look at Ron Paul. If your more conservative, you could look at Tom Tracendo.

I've always wondered what it means when someone says they (or someone) lost a job to an illegal.
I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just wondering what job it is that your buddies lost.
Did they dig ditches or what?
Whatever the jobs were why is it, do you think, that they lost it.
I honestly find it hard to believe that anyone hires someone solely on the fact that they're illegal.
Could it be that the illegals did the job better and at a better price?
A lot of small business in this country went under because of Walmart.
Walmart does the job better and cheaper.

There are currently laws on the books to protect American jobs from illegals. Contact your state representative, contact your local labor board. Report the issues and let the system work. This is a hot topic right now so you should get some results.

Once the Democrats gain both branches back, they'll be able to do something about the problem instead of sticking their heads in the sand like Bush. (Or like the rubber stamp Congress in place until January of this year). Right now the Republicans show their true colors, that they are more interested in partisanship than the common good, so most meaningful measures are blocked by these self serving politicians.

This is one large misconception that needs to be dealt with. When a company outsources, they are hiring cheaper workers abroad. That means more profit. That results in more business, that results in a need for more qualified workers at HOME. Tell your friend to get an education in a career a foreigner couldnt possibly be trained in and he will be paid better even. Outsourcing has produced MORE jobs at home than not, since companies are able to make more profits. Our society has changed from a manufacturing to service based with new high demand for highly skilled workers.

Sorry, it doesn't look like anyone from either party will touch this issue pre-election. It's way too volatile.

your friends should just bid lower than the illegals. the way to beat them is to offer to work for less than they do.

it's just simple economics.

Hate to tell you this but it's REPUBLICAN business owners who don't want to stop illegal immigration.

Too much profit to be made.
