Don't blame the Democrats for the mess Bush and his administration has left us with.
The Democrats enjoy merely a simple majority of seats in both houses, if you include independents.
Thus, in order to overturn Bush's veto, they have to have enough Republicans willing to co-sponsor the bill, and have a 2/3 majority vote ratifying the bill when it goes back to Congress after the presidential veto.
Unfortunately, whenever you deal with bipartisanism, you have to deal with making modifications to the bill which make it overcumbersome (see the Immigration Bill).
Thus, the bill never gets ratified.

Because it is "Mission Impossible."
This was an act of "Imperialistic" motives, so aptly stated as a "Crusade", the pre-war intelligence was flawed and the "occupation" is tedious.
Remember, there are enough "Republicans" in office is off-set the votes needed to enact anything of substance. One can not forget the blatant questioning of ones patriotism as a means of pursuing this ill-fated act of "Global Miscalculation." Do not blame the Dem's for their inability to derail Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Rove. Everything we take for granted is being eroded before our eyes.
All of America is too blame!
So, take a dose of "Getoveritol" and vote for the best candidate in 2008!

Because the last of the world's Superpowers was/is big on gung ho but woefully lacking in wisdom.
They think, who needs planning when we're the biggest, best equipped modern killing machine in the world?
Well now I guess they're finding out !
Nothing gives the right for American to launch 'pre-emptive' attacks (aka, invading and occupying another country).
Nothing gives Dubya, with his John Wayne swagger the right to send other peoples' children to bomb innocent civilians at 35,000 feet.
And to all Americans, if you're STILL trying to convince yourself it's alright - you're wrong, it isn't and the rest of the world knows it.
Yep, I know, poodle boy Blair took us with you, well that was wrong too.
To Heart & Troll - More to the point, what's yours ????

Don't you remember Mission Accomplished was toppling Saddams regime and capturing him? There was a flight deck, a snazzy banner, Bush prancing around in a flight suit equipped with a cod piece. He looked quite smarmy.
Iraq will either stand or fall on their own. It is not longer up to us. You can not spread democracy at the barrel of a gun. If the Iraqi's want their country to succeed they have to make it happen.

Apparently the mission was to start an endless war that would guarantee high profits for Halliburton.
If so, then "mission accomplished"!

The mission won't be accomplished until we control the oil reserves and our puppet government is doing everything that we say.

I got blasted by cons when I ask the same question, they always come up with all types of excuses and garbage. Neconservatism is a mental degenerative disease, don't waste your time. Just feel sorry for them.
