Here is the case: My dad often talks crap about me, not to my face, but behind my back to my mom. The thing is that he does it so indiscreetly that I can hear it practically every single time. Today he criticized me for sleeping until 9 oclock when I should have been tutoring my little sister (never made any such plans). God, what's wrong with sleeping until 9?

So the question is like this: Did this happen to you and how much did it boil your blood?

Sounds like your dad's being a jerk. If your old enough get an after school and weekend job. That way you will have something to get you out of the house, a way to make money, and that usually makes any father back off.

Your dad is afraid of you, your growing manhood. If you could possibly (gulp. I realize this will be hard) put it in your schedule to express overt respect for him in his presence at least once a day, or, even better, acknowledge and show respect for him (in body language, preferably - older men are not too verbal - you notice he doesn't even have the guts to attack you in person!) I believe you'll see him relax a little.

If he picks on you directly, try, "Did Jesus tell you to say that?" or "How long have you been feeling this way?" or "Did you tell me to do that? I'm sorry. I didn't realize..."

No it didn't. If they talked I didn't hear it. Your dad probably did that on purpose and I think it's rude.
Nine o'clock am is too early to be up.
I would be very angry.
