I understand Fully About the way in which Nvidia 'RANK' There Graphics Cards.

Like; Nvidia Geforce 5 series is much older than a nvidia 8 series. And That a Nvidia 8600GT is worse than an 8800GT

But i dont understand how ATI Rank their cards. Unlike Nvidia.

Please explain how ATI Order There Cards. Thanks!

in some sense the same way x series ie x800 x850, x1k series ie x1600 x1800 x1950, and now the hd 2000 series ie hd2400 hd 2900. i've had an x800 pro that could walk all over some newer cards. but as to which are better it varies the hd series however are dx10 capable just like nvideas 8 series but frankly nvidea is better than ati now adays even though i do miss my old ati x800 pro it was and still is an awsome vid card. but my 8800gts is far better.

ATI is basically doing it the same as nVidia now. There newest cards are the 2000 series, with 2900s being the high ends, the 2600s being the mid range, and the 2400s being low end. nVidia's 8000 series has 8800 as high end, 8600 as mid range, and 8500 and 8400 as low end. If you go back to around the ATI 9000 series and X*** series, it is a little less orderd, but the X1000 series and the current 2000 series follow this pattern.

I think the higher the model # the better the card, e.g the Radeon x1900 would perform better than the x1300 etc
