an age old question even recognized by the gods themselves!
Yes there is a difference between the two. It's a balance of sorts. You can have sex without the love. ( horny, lust, whatever word you wish to fit that. ) but with Love, that act of sex can become something entirely different. It can open ones eyes and soul. it can truly melt a heart of cold iron. Sex is simply an act that gives off gratification to the individuals involved ( or groups involved if your into that ), but when Love in introduced into that carnal equation, then something wonderful truly happens and a simple act becomes a instrument of true passion and souls joining in a opera of love and trust.

No I think it's bad if you can separate sex from love! To me sex should be part of a loving relationship. You should get inside someone's heart and soul when you enter their body I think! Or maybe I'm old-fashioned. People who have sex without love scare me...I think they must just be afraid to be vulnerable and human. Afraid to get hurt so they close their hearts off to true intimacy but then they're missing the whole point. When someone makes you "horny" and you want to tear their clothes off and they're also your best friend & you adore them & they stimulate you mentally and you can talk for hours and laugh with them and play scrabble and just hang out then that's awesome. You have to have both I think.
You're not shallow at all my friend. You are deeper than the "bad boys" out there!

That's an interesting way at looking at things, but that's not "love." Indeed, sex is a way of showing love, but it in itself is not love.
Real, true love (so hard to find these days) is when you love a person for them. You love everything about them, their personality, their hearts, they minds, their souls, their bodies...everything. If they were missing the lower half of their body, you would still love them!
Sex is just a way to show that love. Sex is really meant to have kids, and kids are an extension of the person you love.
So, in the end, no, I guess what you feel ain't love, hunny-bun. And until you feel "real love" you won't understand.
And yes, I guess that does make you a pretty bad boy.

Take a poll. Ask the guys what they think the difference is between sex and love.
They will probably give you a dumb look that says "what's the difference?" Now ask a woman.
If you are a male, and you don't know the difference between sex and making love, you have a lot to learn.

Don't take this teh WRONG WAY, I just think "horny" is a "corny" word and it sound LAME, I mean ~ I think there may be a BETTER WORD or PHRASE that we coudl come up with ... like "juiced" (well that sounds lame too) ... maybe "JIVED" or "revved" ... I don't know other people probably have better WORD CHOICES... but I think a larger consensus would say that the "h-word" is definitely out...
As far as SEPARATION of SEX and LOVE ~ read the YAHOO WEB LOGS(via my profile) I have entitled H.EY BROTHER and H.ISISTER
~ they focus on the higher thought of a ONE LOVE MATE system, it may be primative but if you can see what I'm saying...
Hope in LOVE...

No, you love your penis, that's all. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just that it has very little to do with love - which is a lot of hard work and isn't very much fun at times.

dude....love and sex aren't separate thying like most people did or think.
sex is more phisycal gratification. but love is much more stronger. Unfortunately thanks to media word SEX is being overused abused in society.
the different between boy and man is not in tool between leg. but your state of mind, your brain. :).
I agree with TheHumble: guys don't separate love from sex where as most women do. :). most of the time when guyd see beatiful woman they brain stop working...its like aswitch...and they tool start working...
that's where trouble starts :)

It does that to me too and I have been married for 26yrs. Sometimes I wonder how much I really love my husband or just his body. then it takes time to convince myslef that I am not here for my health and of course I love him.
