How do you get the back sleeve out of the axel housing that the bearings and seal go in on an 1988 Silverado 4X4? Thanks

If you're speaking of the outer bearing race sleeve at the end of each axle a small two finger puller should grip the inside of the outer bearing sleeve inside of the third member housing. Place a small piece of steel across the axle housing for the center of the puller to push from the outer bearing sleeve should pop loose.

If this does not work a small hammer puller will do the job. Maybe you can borrow one from Auto Zone. When installing new bearing races it's always nice to tap them home with a brass plug exactly the same diameter as the outer race to prevent cracking or breaking the bearing race.

Good Luck.
