Side effects from chondroitin are but not limited to nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain and allergic reactions in some individuals. Stop taking it if you notice swelling in the face or airway or a rash. Some side effects of glucosamine include nausea, diarrhea, and heartburn along with increased blood sugar in diabetics. A way to combat the side effect is consume a bit of food before taking it and then a little bit more after. Stay hydrated because you do run the risk of getting dehydrated from diarrhea. But your side effects are perfectly normal...I'm wondering if this was prescribed from a doctor or are you just taking it as a supplement. It could be that if you're taking it as a supplement you are perhaps taking a too high of a dosage.

Well, I looked it up and a website said :
There appear to be no adverse effects associated with taking glucosamine or chondroitin supplements. You may, however, experience some mild side effects, such as an upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, and indigestion.

Be careful of how much you take--are you using the pill or liquid form and are you taking the recommended dosage? The nausea could also be a symptom of something else. Discontinue the GC for a couple of days and see if it relieves the nausea. I've taken it before (liquid form) and have experienced mild stomach upset.

You were smart to quit that Celebrex. I've been on G/C for a good while and it has really helped. I've not had any side effects.
