I was also registered at babies r us. Normaly, the item is shown as purchased when someone purchases it online or even in store (if they remember to tell the clerk its on the registry) but when I was registered (8months ago) I still got items in double because the website is not top notch. The person who bought the items returned it and got me something else.

When you go to Babies R Us, the cashier will scan the Registry and then the products. This should mark them as FUFILLED on the Registry so that others know not to buy them. However, it can take a few hours to show up in the system. There have been very rare occasions where two people are at different stores within a few hours and purchase the same thing. It will show on the Quantity that there were 2 bought when she only requested one. You can get a Gift Recipt or even give her the Original (she'll already know how much the item cost you...she picked it out!) just in case. I usually slip in in the card so it doesn't get lost. I think even without a reciept, they should let her return it if she shows them her Registry. I know Target did that for my Wedding one. I didn't need to return anything from Babies R' Us when I had mine done. I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you give the cashier a copy of the Registry and if she happens to get a duplicate, it's usually people who forget to have it marked off. Good luck!

If you include a gift receipt, she can return your gift for store credit up to 3 months after you purchase it. Just be sure to let her know that if she waits to do any returns AFTER the 90 day return period, she may not get the full price on the reciept for the item. Babies-R-Us only guarantees the price for 90 days. After that you get the current price of the item......even if you have the receipt. Obviously this becomes a problem if the item then goes on sale.....you get the lower price back.

The baby registry should show the items that were allready purchased. If you keep the receipt you shouldn't have any problems anyways, Babies R Us has a really good return policy.

She can always return it as long as it's on the baby registry. Babies R Us also offers an insurance that will also let her keep the gift for 3 months and return it or exchange it for something else. You can also include a gift receipt with the gift.

When someone purchases something off of the registry, it is no longer on the registry (unless the mother to be requested multiples, which is unlikely in the case of expensive items).
If she does get duplicates, she would be able to exchange it for store credit using the packing slip that will be in the package.
I hope that this helps! It really is a simple process, and it generally works very smoothly.

as soon as someone gets somthing off the registry its usually marked right off. Also there should be some sort of gift receipt that comes with it so she can exchange it.. Not return but exchange.

It won't let you make something as bought unless you buy it there. They won't match prices with amazon unless fulfilled by amazon. $159.99 vs $119.99). Most registries will let you mark as bought, even if elsewhere.

If it's been bought from Babies R Us, the registry won't let you buy a double. As soon as it's paid for, it's moved to the "bought" list.
