Because Sunday church is the one day people go to church. and church starts early so the people can be home with their families.and relax the rest of the day.

What better way to start this Holy day! Besides in my area you can go to church services at 11am so if you are still in bed at that time you don't have much day left anyways.

Guess coz it's a holy day so we need to get up to worship and rest from other wordly things! By the way, my church starts at 10am!

Not really 'rest' as we would see.
It's a day to rest from the busy things of life and set apart time for God and God alone.
Not rest as in sleep.
Although if that's how you worship the Lord.

Shame on you. Its not a day of rest for you,but for God. God works hard all week killing people and processing souls,its a pretty tough gig,so you really cant blame the guy for taking one day off per week. Besides,I think its a state labor law.
