As a wife and mother, I'm searching for a better quality of life. My husband and I were both raised (33 years) near Los Angeles, but recently moved to North Florida. We hate the bugs and humidity! So, we're considering a move to Denver. Having two young boys, I think the outdoor activities would provide a great place to live and play. Plus, I've read the education is top-notch. However, I'm a little concerned at all the negative comments towards Californians. I know there has been several transplants, but what are they doing to create this negative image? Just curious....

I lived in the Mojave desert for 7 years. The Mojave isn't exactly LA, San, Fran, Sandiego or Palm Springs but the majority of the people act a little uppity. I'm serious. Taken into consideration that the desert is truly beautiful, you'd think the people that lived there would be a little more humble? Heck no. I see why people from Colorado would dislike Californians. Not all Californians are uppity but a good majority are.

I don't know what the Californians are doing that would tick off the people in Colorado--maybe complaining about the high altitude, the cold, and the snow? I used to live in San Jose, CA, and now I live in PA; Colorado sounds good to me.
Good luck on your move!

The people in Colorado hate Texans, too.
My guess is that since it is a "hot" market, a lot of rich posers have shown up and made the natives miserable. The poorer posers have diluted the job market.
If you go there, the task would be to blend in with the local culture as quick as possible and act like you've always been there.
Be aware that you may be dealing with multiple feet of snow every winter.

The people of Colorado loathe anyone who is not a native of the state. I remember a bumper sticker on a car on Academy Blvd. "Welcome to Colo. Now go back!" LOL, rofl
