if you analyze a few-words-person you'll notice that he/she actually is not "few words" but doesn't want to share with others because have been growing introverted and doesn't want to socialize that easily, so that person have many words, the problem is that he/she needs extra-trusting for take them out,
That's why you see these people talk many-words with his/her most relative (parents, siblings, best friends).
So then a few-words-person is actually not few-words?

Many times people who are temperamentally introverted appear not to be thinking to those of us who are chattier.

Actually, introverts can have lively internal dialog that they then convert into just "a few words".

It's the opposite of extraverts who use many words because they're literally "thinking out loud".

You have analyzed your own question. I think the whole thing is, some folks are just shy around strangers, and feel more at ease among their families and close friends. That doesn't mean they aren't willing to share. But I agree with what you are saying.

Yeah.. I think, kinda depends on the situation. Very quiet people can talk for hours on a subject dear to their heart when they feel comfortable. Then there are get-to-the-point people who are not interested in random chit-chat.. not shy, just 'considered'.

Me, I get grumpier and more introverted the older I get.. I can't be bothered sharing with insincere or 'periphery' people. Sincere and significant people tell me this is common. :)

no. we like to get our point across, then shut up. Verbose people aren't sure others understand, the FW person just doesn't care. Have a good day
