I have nearly 1500 cds, so I have to have a multi-tiered system for locating my music. I listen to almost all kinds of music, so, first I sort them by genre( I sort the genres by alphabet), after that, I sort by artist, and lastly I sort by release date. This takes care of about 98% of my collection. The other 2%, the ones that don't easily fit in a single category, I keep in a seperate case.
Yes, I do have OCD, but I'm not such a bad guy.

Yes. I order first by genre, then alphabetically.

I am a somewhat messy person. My office and bedroom generally look like a disaster area. But for whatever reason, I need my CDs to be in order. Also, I sort my change, having a separate jar for pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and now dollar coins.

Yes , mine is, I have just put all my Cd's into itunes on my computer so at the same time I put them back into order - but now with itunes you can click at the top and list them by name or artist. This stops me buying the same song twice as I can see if I have it by a different artist - saves time and money once done. It has taken me years to get round to doing this, and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner.

I have my cd collection in 9 racks. I draw a playing card and pick a cd from that rack and move it to the top of the next rack playing it of course. In time the rubbish will sink to the bottom

Yes - I'm afraid they're in alphabetical (by band name or artist surname) and also chronological (by release date)... I have loads so it's the only way I'd find them - I don't get teased for this, most people find it weirdly impressive! Oh, and I'm not a man, nor do I have OCD!

Yes sad to say my CD collection is in order, When I didn't have so many of them it wasn't a problem, but I'd never find them now without this arrangement

NO, which is probably why I can't find one when I want it, I usually keep them in the living room, but now I've a few in the car, kitchen etc, so I'm even more lost. Then again - I find ones I forgot I had, or worse still, I buy one on sale only to see I already had it!!!

Yeah i'd be sort of anal like that. I used to interrupt it up into categories like Rock, steel, Classical, Oldies etc... yet that have been given sort of old, so now it quite is without delay alphabetical. comparable is going for my video clips and books too.
