I mean, can't he explain to the cop that if he knows where I am he can't possibly know how fast I'm going?

You and your car must be very very tiny; maybe, about the size of your average quantum. That's the size when the Heisenberg standard deviations (his measures of position and momentum uncertainty) become significant. As I suspect you are a wee bit bigger than an electron, for example, your uncertainty can't even be measured by that cop's radar gun. Nope, I'm afraid Heisenberg would be an invalid defense...pay the fine.

This only applies if you are a subatomic particle. At the macro level where you exist, the speed detection device accurately measured the average speed (relative to the earth) that the collection of subatomic particles known as you was traveling at.
Pay the ticket and use the excess brain capacity that I have saved you to figure out a real problem like how to cure cancer or bring peace to the Mideast.

The cop doesn't have to know exactly where you were when you were speeding. All he has to know is that you were speeding somewhere over a short stretch of the highway. I think you'll have better luck in arguing indistinguishability from other cars.

He probably won't be much help, since he died in '76. On the other hand, you could make the argument, and when the judge laughs at you, go to your secondary argument, "Your Honor, if I'm a subatomic particle, think how small my brain must be!" and he could have mercy.
