Imo, Chevy Impalas are a great car....Just think about the many years the Impala have been around...Plus, certain police depts have used the Impala.
I might buy a former police car, of which, it might be an Impala or Caprice....Both are very strong cars, performance wise and low maintenance required.
We have a 1996 Chevy Caprice/Impala, [former cop car-LT1 package] so the records show, and I have to say, the car is bad to the bone...It can beat most cars on the road, especially "Ricers"....Ricers don't stand a chance....
You might not be a GM person, but I think, in all honesty, you will like the Impala.

I purchased my 03 Impala LS new in May 03 and have had only two minor problems. One was a broken retainer clip inside of the front parking lamp and the other was two broken springs in the roof assist pull down handle. This is the best Chevrolet product I have owned since 1946

Well, water pump, radiator and radiator fan problems are common as far as I know check those out as a priority! If its checks :OK, then consider it...
BTW...the police Impalas you see on the street are different then the ones offered to the public....

American cars are not reliable. If you want a reliable car, you should get a Japanese car. A Toyota Camry is similar to the Impala, so if it suits your style, go ahead and get one.
