Before you fire anybody, as has been suggested, determine if it will cost more to get more productive replacements that it will to find a working motivation for your existing unproductive employees.

It's tough. But working out the problem with lower level employees will allow you to effectively address them. Unfortunately, they may feel they aren't valued as much as the more senior employees & guess what....they aren't. They don't bring the same level of skills to the organisation that someone such as I would (with 20 years experience of a complex skillset).

But there is a balance of value & expectations - aside from the higher level skillset that I bring to an organisation, the organisation has far higher expectations of me. The trick is to balance value/expectation.

If an entry level person screws up, maybe they forget to order office supplies. If I screw up, it maybe costs the company thousands or even millions.

see, every organisation is a team comprising of diversified employees and they perform their work as they r told to do so. it doesnt matter from which deptt. an employee belongs to. what really matters is his/her work which he/she does as expected out of him/her.

if u r asking about lower level administration ill tell u they can be technicians, mechanics, assistant workers, clerks, peons and many more........

measures to motivate ther r : -

1. they should be assured that they also constitute an important place in the organisation.

2. as they belong to lower level managers they can take recourse to lonliness, boredom so they should be imparted a chance to have their saying in the matters of organisation.

3. their grivances should be listened to.

4. they shold be given rewards for their brilliant efforts and they should be made beneficiries to different welfare schemes.

5. they should be given promotions if they deserve it.

6. if they r not performing well the reasons should be quizzed and efforts sholud be made towards their solution.

To remove the morons that believe power is the key to productivity. Replace with someone that is knowledgeable is willing to listen and to motivate with sound judgment.
Rid the company of the POWER BOSS and replace with the POWER SUPERVISOR.
Most Superiors fail to recognize the difference between being the Supervisor and being the boss. One of them causes conflict within the ranks.

Set realistic KPI's and fire the fuckers who fail to meet them.

You pay real money. Expect real results.

We're all adults, and we're all in business.

Hey don't all sit around singing Kombayah - fire the fuckers.

When you have rid yourself of the loose units, pay the productive ones better.
