Hg+ and NO3-
Hg2(NO3)2 >> 2 Hg+ + 2NO3-

Mercury(I) is actually [Hg2]2+, and the nitrate ion is (NO3)-.

So we have [Hg2]2+[(NO3)-]2.

Hg----> Hg2+ (superscript)+ 2e-
2N03 (subscript) + 2e- ------> 2NO3 -(-superscript)
