Problems are unavoidable, but I don't know that they are necessary to our development. It is true that adversity can make us stronger, but it is also true that it can destroy us. The perception is related to that many have about overcoming illness: A person survives a terrible, terrifying disease, and many proclaim, "Oh, he survived by sheer force of will. He would not accept death! What a great man!" That's a lovely feeling, that by being strong and unrelenting we can save ourselves, but then what does that say about those who do not survive? It's insulting to believe they just didn't have enough guts, or resolve, or whatever one thinks it takes. We should know that sometimes the cancer just happens to metastasise to the pancreas and liver, and there's nothing we can do about it."God doesn't give anyone more than he can handle" is just not a true statement. Some are crushed, oftentimes with no recourse.

Oh, a beautiful question.
We often see people clandestinely 'create' problem and then appear to solve it ! They are the people who feel that their sense of security lies in seeking their identity getting noticed as an ongoing process.
When a person fails to appreciate the gift of self-awareness, he has no other means to go beyond the sensory levels of perception, and such a person, does have a root problem, of identity crisis, and that makes compels such a person to ensure the problems around (either keeping them live, or creating afresh). We can see a politician as the best example. They 'require' the voters to remember them, so problems for the voters is what keeps them alive ! And revolving around them there is a second line of such people... the Media ! Media hunts for news, or at times, creates them (unethical , ofcourse). There are some in Media field, who research, and bring out newer aspects of life around, creating awareness about lesser known significant facts, to in turn keep themselves 'alive' !
A wise person, who has overcome this identity crisis within, is joyous at all times, and in a dynamic state of inaction , even confined to a cave for long period, having overcome even the basic human needs, ready to give oneself totally if & when the situation warrants !

In the long journey of life... everything is not as easy as we think . When problems appear it will be a test for you and how you react to it and overcome it will reflect your ability to face the life. It is only after handling such problems successfully the so called "self satisfaction" and "confidence" develops in us and life becomes interesting . But one should not become a problem for others. However I didnot find any problem in answering your question on problem!.

Problems come to all people -that's life-and life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you handle it. From problems you can grow stronger like what doesn't kill you makes you stronger --Peace

i would say no, we dont need problems to prove we are alive, our experiences, whether good or bad, simple or complicated, do that. without problems, which isnt likely to happen, we would perhaps be content, but then we would still have the question of what to do with ourself, what to learn etc,

what you think as problems, are real routines. a lion eating a deer, you consider as a problem to deer, is a routine for nature. nature has to provide food to lion and created a deer. then can you call that as a problem for deer?
