It's a national disgrace, imho.
It's not too much to ask for respectfulness when candidates disagree on issues.

That also applies to political mudslinging right here on Yahoo Answers!

I don't think you'll ever see the honorable Ron Paul stoop to mudslinging, even though it seems about 70% of politicians don't agree with his Constitutionalist values.

I have thought that way for some time now. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Imo, wouldn't it serve the ppl of this great country better if both sides worked 'together" to resolve many issues/topics/etc, rather than bickering like little schoolyard children?

Elected officials need to stop "using" the ppl of this country...And they need to stop "abusing" their position.

Wouldn't they have to have 'brains' to actually 'realise' something?
If they're anything like our Australian pollies' , mud slinging is a required part of being one!
I wonder who actually writes their lines for them, because i'm pretty sure they couldn't make it up on their own!

It's a sad commentary, but the reality is that if it never worked - no one would do it.
And they're still doing it - must be the public doesn't see the obvious logic in your question.
Sometimes they just get very tiring - he did it, no I didn't - yes you did - yeah, but what about the time that you................ugh!

when a person resorts to mud slinging rather than express themselves in a civil manner, they negate their credibility with me and i think most people feel the same way.

Bush keeps slinging mud hoping that his targets will look as stupid as him. Doesn't seem to be working though.
