ok i have a 82 kawasaki ltd 440 its seems to be making a clunking noise from the engine/tranny. but only when the choke is off. when the choke is on no noise sounds good. when i rev it up the clunking stays the same no change in the noise. when i increase the rpms not even in gear its just stays steady no matter what i do? the chian is a little loose too thats about all the info i think my help

It's a little difficult to diagnose a sound without hearing it in person.
If you can, make a video of your bike running and post it to YouTube.
Then send us the link.
Or try to determine where the noise is coming from yourself.
With a long screw driver, press the handle to your ear and touch the blade to different areas of the engine, to pin-point where the noise is.
The screwdriver acts as a stethoscope.

Could be running lean or need valve adjustment real bad. Pull the plugs and see what condition (color, residue, burnt, etc) they are in.

Because Its a 1982! What else? Ebay that thing and get yourself a new/newer bike man....Let it go...
