I don't feel disgust when I see a really obese person. I feel sorry for them, but I am also a little amazed that they could let it happen. I do think it is a societal problem that needs to be addressed especially with children who are becoming more and more sedentary...just little couch potatoes munching away on those chips and cookies. They need to get outside and play till they drop. They shouldn't be let back in the house until meal time. If they have a weight problem, take away the computer, the TV, and send them outside! If they can't find something to do, enroll them in every physical activity you can.

I've just lost 80lbs and I can honestly say I am treated differently now. The thing is I'm still the same person inside. Someone who has never been overweight can't understand this.
With that said I was never physically attracted to someone who was as heavy as I was. I look at overweight women and see the potential instead. The only thing that doesn't change unless something tragic happens is what's behind they're eyes. If I was more of a saint I would only look there.

I think it is really wrong to call people mean names. Calling someone a fatty is a mean thing to do. No one should call other people mean names, and even when they are sincerely joking in a nice way, the word 'fatty' should never come up.
Turned off by fat people, really skinny people?? People that are underweight and sickly make me concerned about their health. No, I am not disgusted by fat people. I have fat friends. I see their fatness, but it isn't the first thing that pops into my mind. I know fat people know they are fat, so I don't feel I need to say anything about it to them. The skinny people, on the other hand, make me wonder if something is terribly wrong with them. What turns me off is men with body hair all over their backs, etc..

That's a pretty loaded question. Don't you realize that a lot of overweight people are going to read it? What do you think their reaction will be? But to answer your question, when I see a person who is grossly obese, I feel sorry for him or her, and wonder how they got that way. Being heavy like that is not strictly due to overeating or lack of exercise. Sometimes there are thyroid or other endocrine problems, or a genetic disposition. However, it is detrimental to the health of a person to be over their target weight, and I always hope they will seek medical help to correct the problem.
When you were a kid, your parents should have punished you for being so insensitive to others. From the looks of things, you have not progressed much further than when you were that taunting kid.

HONESTLY, when I see somebody who's slightly heavier, I pay no mind. But when somebody is obese, I feel slightly sick, because it's so unhealthy. Why would you ever let yourself get SO incredibly big that you can't even walk down the street? Don't you have some kind of WILL to be healthy and to live?

I feel sad when I see anyone who is not taking care of their bodies, whether they are over weight, under weight, taking drugs, or whatever.
