Of course not. As an American consumer, your eating and spending habits are your own business depending on your own preferences and have little or nothing to do with being unAmerican.
I say "little or nothing" only because I believe it might might be somewhat unAmerican if you prefer to buy only foreign products because of some experience you've had in the past with an American made product - this would be unreasonable based on a single experience.
Other than that, it sounds like you haven't bought into the must have now, materialistic mind set of a lot of other people - and that is not unAmerican at all.

Of Course! You are just part of a growing sector (middle class) that is being squeezed so badly that you do not have enough money for anything else! That's un American - how dare you be poor and/or getting poorer.
The rich and elite that control the economy and send jobs offshore to make millions more are the really 'true blue' Americans who 'own' the American dream.

No, that makes you prudent and actually good for the people who make less. By not buying that creates surpluses which in turn drives down prices so when you do decide to spend some money you can afford more.

No. Folks on fixed incomes need to do this everywhere. Isn't it great that our Congress people will never have to worry about anything like that. They give themselves a $5000 a year pay raise that in turn increases the retirement they get.

I think this is how every American should think!!!! You just keep on doin what your doin! Most Americans spend WAY too much money on things they don't need! Plus, you're probably gonna save money by doing what you're doing.

I would consider it to be more UnAmerican not to take the opportunity that each and every able-bodied person has to better themselves. :)

The upper class would prefer that you spend more than you make and carry all the debt the lenders will provide you with. Once you do that you are their slave for life.

If this makes one unAmerican, then I must belong to another world completely.

you know, in the small town where i grew up, there were rumors that some old street bum looking geezer was actually wealthy...
i guess if someone wants to live frugally like that, that's their choice... i know that such miserliness appears to border on insanity...
what was he, if in fact he was, saving the money for?
i know it's virtually impossible for me to tell my six kids "No" for most things they want.... it's very difficult for us to save alot of money...
