Yes, and now "they" are advising people to take Omega 369 everyday, which I believe is the same isnt it?

While researching the pros and cons of eating fish one day I found research that says the Norwegian who eat fish everyday have the healthiest babies.

And they tend to have higher IQ's. Stay healthier physcially and mentally much longer than other populations do. I email my third cousins who are into their 90's now and they appear to be sharp as tacks. Still skiing and spending spring holiday at their little chalet with their families.

Mom told us it was to keep us healthy and ward off colds etc.

Cant see how it would keep you "regular" wouldnt that be what they used to call "a good dose of salts" whatever the heck that meant. Didnt have any personal experience with whatever that was - perhaps mineral oil?

Until we rebelled from the taste. They were truly vile. Then she found a brand that had the cod liver oil in gelatin capsules. There was no way to get out of taking one of those every morning...and then you would spend the day belching up awful tasting cod liver oil fumes!

She quit buying these finally when I was around 12 years old.

I remember getting cod liver oil at the school where I went to kindergarten. Just before nutrition we had to stand in line and swallow a spoonful of oil. It wasn't cod liver oil every day, there was another one and I can't remember what it was. I do remember liking the cod liver oil better than the other one.

Yes, and we were also given sulfur and honey to prevent boils. Now, I'm reading that cod liver oil will reverse osteoporosis and relieve the pain and inflammation. They are suppose to have a new lemon flavored, I think it would be hard to disguise that flavor. I am seriously considering doing it again to relieve the osteoporosis in my spine. I also heard that if you soaked raisins in vodka and eat a couple a days it will relieve the pain of arthritis, worth trying

No, my Dad did.

He had rheumatoid arthritis and said it helped. What he didn't know was that the Omega-3 in the Cod Liver Oil not only helped his arthritis, but it also kept the cholesterol from caking on his arteries and kept his cholesterol level down.

I remember this one time my dad was at a concert with my mom and me, and in his pocket he had some cod liver oil. He was swigging it, and at first I thought it was alcohol. I never had tried it though. I'm a 'cod liver oil capsule' person!x

No, but I did give it to my children, and (of course) I used to have my dose with them, along with orange juice.
I don't mind the taste of cod liver oil now - as long as it's fresh!

Mom tried to sneek it in my milk or my cereal and I could smell the junk when I went into the kitchen. May have been good for me but made me gag.

You must be the same age as I am. My great grandmother swore by the stuff. Said it would keep you regular. God how I hated it.

Nope, but my mother was given turpentine with sugar every week to prevent worms. She tells me it was an old German tradition. Blech...
