Remove the hard drive and check it for damage. You can have it professional done or install it into another computer and check the contents. You can also buy a hard drive enclosure which allows you to connect the hard drive directly via USB. Besy buy has enclosures and may be able to help you out even more if you give them a call. GL!

You're asking if a hard drive would survive.
I've done several fire salvages and the hard drive always worked, as did most components. Of course, these did not the type of heat that would melt circuit boards or metal, but the monitors and keyboards were blobs.

well it depends how bad it was destroyed. if the hard drive is still intact u can try to get it to work by getting an ide 2 usb converter. if it is not, u can send it to a data retrieval center, but it costs a lot.

It all depends if the hard drive from your old PC can be retrieved. If yes put the old hard drive into your new PC and copy all the files you want to keep onto a DVD or usb hard drive.

get the hard disk from your burned CPU. it has every content you want. if the hard disk is consumed in the fire, then all the contents will be destroyed... that's all I can say...
