WH Smith usually sell them cheap. I bought an A4 one for £12.50 (half price in the sale). It does the job effectively.

Instead of a laminator you can buy Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets. You peel off a backing and place sheet on photo. You just have to be very careful not to trap bubbles. I use them all the time for cards that I put into my wallet. The ink always sticks to the wallet inserts without it.

Avery makes them in a 10 pack of 9" x 12". Two packs would do 100 small photos.

If you're only doing 100, it'd be easier to have your local office superstore do it. They usually charge $1 or maybe $1.50 per sheet.

Most "hot" laminators cost about $50-100, even the "personal" ones. The professional ones can go up to THOUSANDS. And the sheets aren't cheap either. Usually $40 for 100, though if you shop online it'll go down a bit.

I have a personal one from GBC at home I got on clearance for about $40, and it's pretty good for the occasional stuff I put through it.

just get a cheap one, but make sure you have spares of the thing you want laminated coz sometimes they can chew them up, you might be better off finding a local printers or similar that offers a laminating service if it's a one time thing.

if your only doing a few , perhaps going to a stationers and getting them to do it would be cheaper.. or try staples, the shop etc.might work out cheaper.

staples do sell lamintors.. i think they are probably about £20-30 I dunno.

if you know someone who already has the machine, perhaps buy the plastic for it and use theirs. lots of business's use lamintors.
