All that matters is what YOU think about music!
As a former musician and lyricist I have heard lots of music and respect ALL types.
My favorite musical genius is Jach Brel. The album, Alive and Well and Living in Paris.
It's a collection of French and Belginese Love songs, etc.
It describes the human condition perfectly and runs the gamut of human emotions. With it's touching descriptions of life's struggles, it paints a poetic portrait of our greatest hopes and worst fears.
Also,
I like "The Gap Band" - You Dropped the Bomb On Me, Baby, you Dropped The Bomb On Me!
Beauty and poetry personified!
