Don't get me wrong, I think it would be OKAY to have kids, but then I had another thought. I just don't think my genes and social interactions/etiquette are good enough for the population as a whole to have children. I want to make life easier for myself and improve the world. I don't want to have children that will have any of my defective genes and be raised in a home where they can't have every opportunity to succeed. Think of it as a one-man voluntary, eugenics program.

Dunno about genes but social interactions/etiquette are generally learned rather than inherited. Perhaps you could teach your child to learn from your mistakes and become a particulary positive influence on society.

If you don't think you're socially developed enough to be a good parent or is you aren't comfortable passing on your genes, you probably shouldn't have kids. We have enough children being raised by clueless parents who never wanted them in the first place.
But if you're like most people, you'll just neglect to use contraception and make a babies by accident.

It is not for you to choose what is good or not good. The soul who chooses you to be its parent has its own agenda why it would incarnate and experience life on earth. You are only an instrument for the soul to be born here. When you open yourself to the idea of having a child you give opportunity to the souls on the other side to incarnate here for their own experience and evolution.
