NO! It's because when they get married in America the government puts it on the womans head as a wedding gift. It's a scratch-off to see if they won a 7-11 or a hotel.

Why do so many of us white people have red freaking necks and minds that are so freaking narrow that you couldn't even squeeze a pea through them?
The red dot thing is Hindu, which is from India, which is in Asia, not the middle-east.

The women with red dots on their foreheads are not Middle Easterners, they are Hindus (usually South Asians...Hindus and Muslims are completely different religions and South Asians and Middle Easterners are completely different races).
I do not know why they wear them.
But just to help you not get the peoples mixed up, stereotypically, Middle Easterners are Muslims riding camels in the deserts, and South Asians are Hindus riding elephants in the jungle.
I am not trying to offend or disrespect, but I am just trying to help illustrate how they are different cultures and peoples.
