Baltimore Orioles team has been caught up in the second half since new manager and president of team. Orioles need five more win games from tie the record at .500 pct.

What do you think that Orioles will finish above .500?

Orioles are my team and I have faith but the issue is with Angelos. Once he gives some leeway, they will start winning and competing.

I just don't see it happening, at least not this season. The Orioles are a collection of square pegs that do not fit into round holes. Peter Angelos does spend money, but not as smartly as most other teams. Also, it has been a long time since the Orioles have developed an impact player (their last homegrown impact player? Some guy who's spending his weekend in Cooperstown) or an impact pitcher (Erik Bedard? Not ready to annoit him just yet). Their everyday lineup lacks protection from top to bottom (aside from Brian Roberts, Miguel Tejada, Jay Payton, and Aubrey Huff are no better than six-spot hitters, although Nick Markakis is showing some promise). Granted, there needed to be change in the organization from top to bottom (and I still think firing Frank Wren a number of years ago was a huge mistake the Orioles are still paying for), and bringing in Dave Trembley was a start, as was bringing Andy MacPhail. However, there needs to be a new organizational plan implimented in Baltimore, to restore "the Oriole way".

If Bedard and Guthrie were allowed to pitch every game, they would finish ahead of the Skanks which isn't too hard these days.
However, that can't happen. And when you look at their schedule, it was much more favorable for them in the first half. They still have 13 games left with Boston, 6 with the Yanks (although they've done well against them), a 3 game set with Seattle, a 4 game set with the Twinkies, a 3 game set with the Angels, 10 more with Toronto (another decent team), I don't see how they'll get it done. It certainly helps having Tejada back but you got Loewen on the DL, Mora on the DL, Ray on the DL, and they seem to be struggling with Patterson who was hot to start the year but has cooled down (give him a break though, former Cub).
I see 77-85, 4th place in A.L. East

They might finish close to 500 but i highly doubt they will. They still have a lot of games against the best of the AL including the Yanks, the Red Sox, the Mariners, the Twins and the Angels. They will probably finish with about the same winning percntage as they have right now.

I think that they will finish above .500.
Right now they are 5 games below .500. However Miguel Tejada has just returned, and that will help them. The schedule is not that difficult the remainder of the season.
The bullpen is still worrysome this year.

I believe they will come close but not quite get there this year. Next year might be a different story.
