Theoretically, they are supposed to be public servants. They are paid with our taxes, and are supposed to be accountable to the public. That doesn't seem to be the case with the present administration though, does it?

YES! The government has an obligation to support the government and to support the constitution whether it is a state constitution or a federal government constitiution. Not only that, they have a duty to protect the citizens from other countries in the time of war - and lately, in the case of jihad!

Yes--because in America, this government BY the people. The federal government is a servant--they work for us, not hte other way around.

Their obligation is simple: do what the boss tells them to do.

If the government tried to govern, they would be over-ruled by a handful of supreme court judges, who have the only votes that really count, and know how to say "unconstitutional" with a straight face!

Let New Orleans rot, who cares about losing one of the country's most important cities..."Bring Em On" yeah go ahead and shoot at my troops I got a million suckers ready to do what I tell em, why should I care how many US citizens the Iraqis kill. Go ahead, blow the Clinton surplus, give it all to billionaires who don't need it, then borrow a trillion dollars more from Communist China to make the billionaires even richer--who cares if the value of the dollar tanks? No, no obligation at all. Just keep praising Jesus and they'll let you get away with anything.

Yes they do. The U.S Consitution states such. And if the Goverment doesn't do their job, then they need to be removed from office. The government is to be about the people, for the people. And if they aren't those two, then they are a traitor to the United States.

Don't forget they are public servants. Technically we hire them. Among the obligations is to support the Constitution.

I guess I thought so but maybe they don't and they are like a big business that we give control of by elections. And since we are not on the board of directors we have no control of what they do or say and be good sheeples and follow.
