if so what is it? Just one difference will do.
I get kinda confused when I see people posting religious type questions and expect religious type answers in the philosophy category, don't you?

honestly guys i am not that confused, i am just confused about some ppl's behavior. as i understand it, religion centers around the ideas of faith and belief. these ideas could survive without the support of any form of logical explanation or concrete evidence. philosophy is not the same.

Philosophy is the search for truth, it is not governed by or limited to any system, it is an open search.
Religion is doctrine\rules\laws and is governed by and dictates a system and truth.

The catagory of religion is an invention of modernity. What that catagory seeks to describe and explain is a phenonmenon that is far more ancient than the constructs of the modern. There is nothing inherent to the discipline of philosophy that makes it by neccessity secular. Further, there is nothing inherent to the discipline of theology that makes it incapable of engaging the deepest philosophical concerns.
Also, there has, from its inception, always been a relationship between philosophy and theology. Why? Because both disciplines seek clarification of ideas through distinctions and both are concerned with questions of ultimacy and the meaning of existence.

i think this is a question that can be argued a lot. i also think that there is no realistic way to fully answer this in this format. briefly, however, i think there is a link between religion and philosophy. i can get confused also, but if u r a religious person, then u have certain beliefs. philosophy comes into play (IN MY OPINION), when we as human beings (not being omnipotent) are not fulfilled and r looking for answers. philosophy is born out of the questions that r asked because one has no inkling of truth. they r searching for answers. i find my answers in the Bible. others find their's elsewhere. some never find their internal peace and continue to question our beginning, our being, and our inheritance (afterlife). don't know if i even grazed answering ur question, but i tried.

Why not, religion and spirituality are often discussed here. Philosophy touches everything including religion. But religion and philosophy are not the same, philosophy makes a close study of religion as an object of investigation.

i am sorry for late but really i was so busy ,
i will tell you that there isn't difference between religion and philosophy , cause philosophy help us to know what is the world ? why we are all here ? and make us think a bout all our end ? philosophy make us get to the truth and it make us know our god and so on ..... it make us feel how great he was and make us feel guilty of doing bad things that is all ......

if you view religion as a set way to practice a faith, then yes there is a difference
but if you view religion as your spiritual path, your way of living and believing, your basic core faith, then the differences become smaller
why we do what we do, what we should do, what others would/have done etc etc etc, are all part of my spiritual beliefs, and moral issues, so to me there isnt a big difference at all
