and type in the specifications you want under boat search. You can specify the length, year etc. The more you fill in the more specific the search will be. So if you just put in the length you will get a very broad search that you can tighten up as you look.

One thing you need to consider and learn. Gas or Diesel???? Diesel is more safe as it not a flammable as gas. But, with proper precautions (Running Vent Blowers etc.) gas can be OK too.
There are many nice boats in this price range and many used will be in good condition. You need to find a few web-sites to browse and look and read. Eventually you can narrow down what your looking for and not be bombarded with 20 different boats, but, maybe 2-3 that you really like how they look inside and out.
One of my top favorites is the Chris Craft Constellation. But, I like some of the older ones.
I have budgeted for a Sailboat and know what I want and that will be what I buy, all I doing now is waiting for the right deal to come along and it will in time. I hope by this next winter.
Think about Kitchen/Galley and Bathroom/Head. It fun when you can anchor somewhere and be comfortable, even take a shower after a swim in the salt. ;-)
Here a good link to learn;
http://www.boats.com/
Leave the make/brand empty and fill in the rest. For distance I put any as I will go from East to West for my boat. You may want more close. Then you get all these boats to browse with pictures. In time when you know what you want you can enter only that Make/Brand until you find what you want at the price you willing to pay.

I own a 25 footer made by Maxum. The company is owned by Brunswick ,same company that produces Mercruiser and Bayliner and more lines of boats. My Maxum Cruiser is trailerable yet great for weekend camping or a week at a time. It is not what you call liveable, you would need a 30+.
Maxumboats.com I agree that you budget may be quite low for your requirements but look on boatrader.com/////ebay.com////as well as Maxum website..

I'm looking for the same style of boat and have been looking at Maxums, Stingrays, Searays, Chaparrals and Wellcrafts. You should have no problem finding a boat that size for the amount of money you are looking to spend. There are a lot of different websites to shop but I also buy the Boat Trader Magazine every Thursday. Good Luck!

Maxum makes a great cruiser for your size family. Try a used 24-27 footer for your budget.

Try the Battalion 101 X8100-U3. Seriously, your budget is 45000??? Dollars??? Wow, then you can just take this one then =). It's definitely less then $45000. It's got: - Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Crossfire - Intel Core i7-740QM - 4 GB RAM - 320 GB storage (it's not 500 GB like you wanted, but you could probably upgrade it or something :D. Besides, 320 GB is plenty of room) Hope this helps!

you have just entered the hardest part of boating deciding. first there are plenty of boats on the east coast of fla for sale at a fair price you have to spend a lot of time looking,check some small marinas and talk with private owners thay know who's getting ready to sell also check auctions and repo's there quite a few deals out there you just have to keep looking good luck ps I lived in fla for thirty years and know the east coast vary well and have bought two boats at auctions (30')

top of the line is the searay. for use in saltwater if the boat will be kept in the water get an inboard engine freshwater cooled. do not get an outboard drive. for storm protection, you might look at a marina with a rack storage.marina slips are expensive. here in miami a slip for a 30 foot boat is $680.00 per year. also check a twin engine outboard propulsion system. never buy a used boar until you have it surveyed by aprofessional surveyor. never buy from ebay.
