My dad just bought a new computer. It's a DELL. We bought it with windows vista. Some of the programs we used for our other computer will not work in the new one. Should we put Windows XP back on?

I would put Windows XP back. I had the same problem as you do. If you want your old programs to work in VISTA, there is only one choice. You have to buy them again unless they have free software upgrade to VISTA. Plus, VISTA doesn't have all the drivers for things like webcams, printers, scanner, and etc.

put xp back on it. vista still has many bugs, and support for those programs might never come.
