The black college football player Ian Johnson just married a white cheerleader but he said that they received many death threats by mail and through other means. Is Idaho that much of a racist state? This young man had to hire security and he prays that prejudice will become a thing of the past. But that is something only God can do. Only God can bring about peace among all men.

Johnson himself said that some of the very people that personally cheered him during football games were probably the ones who sent him death threats about his marriage.

He proposed to her on national TV, immediately after winning the best football game ever played. People all over the country saw the game and were aware of this marriage. To assume that the threats against him came only or even primarily from locals is not reasonable. It is in fact slightly racist on your part to make that assumption. Racism is a worldwide problem, and needs to be dealt with as such.
As far as peace goes....Only God can bring peace, but it is entirely our responsiblity as human beings to either follow or ignore it.
