Crying is a relief valve for emotional overload cause by some type of either physical or mental trauma. It triggers the release of hormones like endorphins to reduce pain and act as a mild sedative. There are people who can control their crying for manipulative purposes. These are what we call crocadile tears. Like most things in life, crying a normal amount with normal stimulus is very healthy. Too much or too little is a sign of mental imbalance. good question. peace

Some people do it for attention but others do it cause its needed. most people feel much better after crying. I cry alone I try not to let people see me cry. And unless something tragic has happend I can control my emotions. (ex) My father died . I cried right than and there. (ex) found out I was having a baby waited until I was in bed by my self

hahaha, very good question or questions? but I liked it. You made me to answer it.

Yes because of controlling emotions, tears clean eyes do you know. Therefore some time crying is good. But the second situation which you have mentioned for attention that is interesting. Usually this technique is often used by kids for parents attention. But it has a great meaning hidden inside.

If parents ignore it gradually this kid will turn in to bad personality. Therefore, it is recommended parents should take care whether cry is in real or for attention.

I find it very sexy if a man can cry and not feel shame, tells me his Mama raised him good.
Used it to get attention? Well I'am sure I did when I was little with my brothers.

I wouldn't bash crying and say its for attention. But I do think crying might be a human way of showing vulnerablity at a certain time.

I cry alone, it's not for attention - it's emotions manifested physically.
