I can go to the store....I can choose to go to the store..I can choose what I eat, I can choose what I wear. I can choose where I live. I can choose the music I listen to. I can choose any number of things in my daily life...

So why do people want laws that would choose what I can or can't do to my body or who I can or can't marry?

Good question. I would like to know that as well. Primarily, it is because certain religions believe that their opinions should run the government. Christians make up the majority of the population, and their aggressive religion demands that they both run the government and control the people. They believe that morals were made by their religion, and that their religion defines morals. They do not realize that morality existed long before their religious texts, and believe that anything that defies them should be destroyed. Instead of allowing people to live as they want, they want everyone to convert to their opinions, and with their majority vote, they put politicians that throw away equality for religious preference in office. This causes this situation.... Of course you should have free choice to do what you want with your body or in your relationships, whether someone else thinks its wrong or not, but america today is a theocracy instead of democracy. Good luck, we'll try and survive

There are laws against abortion in some countries but I know of none when it comes to whom you want to marry. I think it's more of social codes and social control. No one will stop you from marrying whom you want. But if you are rich and economically independent like Robert De Niro, Boris Becker and the like then you will do what you want and not get negative consequences. I together with some women I've talked to have experienced people running after you on the train to sit next to or opposite you so that the person they wouldn't want to sit there doesn't get the chance to do so. Some will even position themselves (sitting or standing) in a way that shows you are being watched, if you happen to be sitting or standing near a person they wouldn't want you to establish contact with. Sometimes they will even go as far as squeezing themselves in between you and a person to try and stop any kind of communication that can arise. Go to Mc Donalds or any eating place. There is a way certain males always sit, that is with their back facing you if they happen to be with another female. Get observant. You will see all these things I'm mentioning. Those social behaviours are governed by social codes.

I felt the same way about abortion as you did, until I was a little older.

The issue about abortion is that you're not deciding what you can or cannot do to YOUR body, you're deciding what you can or cannot do to ANOTHER human being's body, your own child.

When you have an abortion, you are commiting murder. A child in the forming was killed. That means that he will never be born, be loved, will never go to elementary school, will never tell their mom that he has a crush on a girl, will never graduate, get married, have their own children, or live a full life. You have denied someone of that life.

People who are pro abortion use the same reasoning as you do, but they always intentionally forget that you are killing a baby.

Giving birth when you're not ready for motherhood is a scary concept, but honestly, I feel that the idea of murdering my own child is a lot scarier.

The majority rules. Be it taxes, morals (made as laws), how you can dress walking down the street, etc.

The politician oil the squeaky wheel. What the majority wants, they get. You wouldn't want animal lovers to be able to marry their pets would you? What kind of world would that be.

As far as abortion goes, if you can kill a living fetus legally, then why can't anybody kill anybody? It is the same exact thing, murder! Then assisted suicide would be the next ones demanding the right.

I today's world, you must take in consideration, the repercussion of any act (law) to approve.
It just might be the card that holds the house of cards together. Pick (approve) the wrong card (law), the whole house (society) comes crashing down!

Where I live, we are allowed to choose whom we want to marry...With abortions, many (myself included) believe that this is an act of killing human life. The only exceptions would be if there are life threatening circumstances for the mother and some rape situations...I think abortion is definitely wrong when the mother got pregnant, because she was fooling around with someone and failed to use proper protection...

Laws are meant to protect the others around you from having to shoulder the mistakes you make, that would affect them.
The life of a child in your womb has a right to live. The laws are meant to be its voice.
Which is the law that tells you who you can or cannot marry ?Do you want the law to allow you to marry a member of your immediate Family ?

You Can choose to have an abortion.

You can also "choose" to stick a knife in the neck of the next person you meet.

Why does the one person who needs protecting the most get the least legal protection??

Sure you can choose your own husband and even to have an abortion but that does not make the abortion right but it is still your choice and on your conscience

Becuase there are many insecure people in this society who have never or never will be in those sorts of situations who think that nobody should and they always seem to be the ones who get into office and pass those laws and regulations.

Ah, but you can choose those things. You just have to suffer the consequences of your actions and that is the basis of laws to protect people from themselves and others.
