The complete lyrics say it all for me.

World's Divide
by Flaw

Lost in these times
Its hard to make up our minds
This is the reason
We're convicted for our crimes

So we wait
Scars on our face
They show the importance
Of finding a way to leave this place

But then we're left with
Nothing substantial to hold
And I'm afraid that
Our stories will never be told

Some people carry on
Some just stay right where they are
(Our worlds divide the sight)
I'd rather move along
Knowledge is not very far
(Our worlds divide the sight)

When innocence dies
It tends to shake up your life
Let it consume you
And then leave it all behind

I need escape
From the choices we made
And the feelings of longing
That are standing in our way

But then we're left with
Nothing substantial to hold
And I'm afraid that
Our stories will never be told!

Some people carry on
Some just stay right where they are
(Our worlds divide the sight)
I'd rather move along
Knowledge is not very far
(Our worlds divide the sight)
Some people carry on
Some just stay right where they are
(Our worlds divide the sight)
I'd rather move along
Knowledge is not very far
Our worlds divide the sight

Don't give up on hope
Don't give up on hope!

Don't give because it's hope that binds us
Pain that guides us
Who do we trust when those things remind us?
It's hope that guides us
Pain that binds us
Who do we trust when they're not behind us?

Some people carry on
Some just stay right where they are
(Our worlds divide the sight)
I'd rather move along
Knowledge is not very far
(Our world provides the sight)

Now you are just where you belong
Take all this hope,
It makes you strong!
Now you are right where you belong.

sorry, i cant say i agree with either of those, i think both hope and pain can bind or guide us, it just depends on the situation, and the individual. as to the binding, i assume it means to each other, so its clear to me that shared pain and shared hope is a very binding experience, or even as a individual, to be woven into a complete diverse person, takes both

The first one. Hope is the last thing that dies within a person. We always have faith that everything will be okay and that gives us strenght to go on.
But when we fear of pain and the consequences that may come we are scared to go on further. That way pain manages to bind us.

I think "pain" is out of place here.

It's hope that guides us
And fear that binds us...

Oh my! The first one! i live in a third world country, and i have seen poverty and pain since i was born. I think that this is a reality for soooo many people...unforunately. And i think that´s why the human mind created ¨God¨. Thanx
