Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Fade To Black - Metallica
Those are the ones I would say that compete for the #1 place. I can't decide among those.

something by Bob Dylan probably - take your pick from almost anything from that 64-66 period. Like a Rolling Stone (the first modern rock song), Gates of Eden, Its alright ma im only bleeding, mr tambourine man, chimes of freedom, visions of johanna, desolation row, sad eyed lady of the lowlands, stuck inside of mobile with the memphis blues again. The list is endless.

Now that would depend on what mood i am in or what i am doing whilst listening to the song.
I dont think you can say that one song is the best. I think it depends...
...If i was getting ready to go clubbing and therefore dancing in my bedroom then insomnia by faithless might be the best to listen to but goo goo dolls iris will not!
So in my opinion it all depends!!
