It varies - anything from £35 to £100 a week. Check your local newspapers, and do a google search for letting agents and rooms to let on the internet, you will get a better idea of what you're getting for your money.

If you check out where houses are cheap to buy, then that is where you are likely to get cheaper rents.
House prices in and around London are silly money, so renting has to be expensive so that the houseowner isn't out of pocket.
