Who´s the best current player in MLB?

Did I just see Chris Young on someone's list? Does 1 year with a low ERA make you a top player?
I think the best current player is Chase Utley, say what you will. Good glove, has some power, hits for average, decent speed, closest thing our generation has of Rod Carew. If there was a clear cut best player at a certain position, for me and anyone else with common sense it's Utley at second.

Although A-Rod is having the best season by far in the majors, I would pick Johan Santana as the best current player, as he has been the most dominant pitcher in the majors the past three years.

A-Rod or "April Rod" as they call him back in New York still hasn't shown he can perform in the postseason. He can put up all the monster numbers he wants to, especially when there's no pressure on him now with his team out of the playoff hunt, but if they are in a pennant race in September or make it to the postseason, let's see how he does.

i like alot of guys out their but when it comes down to who you want to pay to see 3 names come to mind. Alberto Pujols, Jose Reyes, and Alexander Rodriguez. But i personally love Jose Reyes since im a mets fan.

A-Rod. Once Bonds gets the homerun record, A-Rod will break it. He also is an excellent infield player.

I'm not one of those bandwagoner's, but I'd have to say A-Rod. He will eventually own the HR record.
