That character is the most important thing to have. Our kids idolize these players and will emulate their behavior. I see too often where people on this forum think we should let these players get involved with drugs, commit crimes, etc. They say as long as they are good on the field of play, we should overlook their behavior. That is some pretty sick stuff right there! We hit rock bottom when we watched double-murderer O.J. Simpson try to flee justice and people were on overpasses with signs saying, "Run O.J. Run!" If Charles Manson would have escaped, would we do the same thing?

I think you've touched on something here. Too often fans tend to look at games as "my team stunk" or "my team choked." They aren't willing to give the other team credit. That's one of the problems I have with sports-talk radio in the past 10 years.
