If you're fear of something, but whatever the outcome is, your life will not be threatened. Therefore, what is the purpose of fear? There is no need to, right?

It is a natural human instinct we can't control. I for one wish i was not so afraid of anything, that way I could finally accomplish my dreams

Before I answer you I would like to give an example which I always quote.
Have you seen a baby moving in a room, try to touch hot items, try to play with fire or even try to grab insect which elder are afraid of. Why it is elder are afraid while baby is not?
Answer to this is, when we are born there are very few natural fear with us. As we grown up in the society we are forced to learn un necessary fear.
Therefore answer to your question, there is no purpose of fear if life is not threatened.
One more question to you. If you are with a friend and someone put a gun on friend's head your life is not threatened but will you be afraid/fearful or not?
Fear is natural at some extent, look at animals, birds or insects when they are in danger how they react?

I think we all fear death. Even the hardcore Christians who reassure themselves each day or every Sunday that there is an afterlife. Think about it, the Bible is just a book. There is no evidence of God anywhere. Theres a good chance it could be made up. Hope is the only thing that tells us that it isn't. People believe in religion to try and supress or eliminate the greatest fear of all, death. And some do it very well.

Originally ( back 100's of years) I think the point of fear was part of natural selection to avoid death. Since the life span has now been dramatically increased and we have much better medical care, being afraid of doing something is less of a necessity.

if human will not fear he will not do anything in his life,..
as example if anyone fear that he/she will not have place to live in so this fear will make him/her work hard and hard to earn money and buy good place , student if he will not feel fear that he can't pass the exam he will not study and so on..
so the purpose of fear is to work hard to prevent what we feel fear from and As a result of that the human succeed and Progress and in sometimes he failed and try again and succeed ,and it's the life
so we are need to fear and without it we will stand on one point and will not go and our Presence in the life will be equal our absence from it.

Fear is something we need. If there is no Fear of the Lord, we would all crumble in the chaos we created. It might not kill us, but it will make our lives a living hell.
