All of them are alternatives to fossil fuels.
They are all renewable, except nuclear.
Any energy source used to heat water creates thermal pollution. Of those listed, nuclear energy would be the worst thermal polluter, and possibly solar, in heating applications.

They are all alternatives to fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is not renewable (renewable means you can keep using it over and over... uranium can only be used the once). Bio-fuels and nuclear energy will create thermal pollution.
