Do wireless signanl boosters really work?

I have a difficult time maintaining a connection to my wireless router when I move throughout the house. Ive seen the signal boosters in the store, but they are rather pricey. Do they really work?

Actually they provide little value. Remember that the radio frequency and power is regulated.

Wireless signals do not go through masonry, metal (e.g. ducts, silver back mirrors, etc) and other signal blocking material. You do not have the ability to freely roam just because it is wireless.

You may find it prudent to move the wirless access point elsewhere in the house. Often a centrally located one helps if the current location is on one side of the house. Some find it better to put it in the attic, others find it better to put it in the basement; all depends upon your house and where you use the pcs. Do not assume you will have universal access however as this is unlikely.

Another option is an antena from the wireless access point maker - as these may fit your need.

unless you have a really big house, i doubt that it's signal strength that is the problem

i would guess that there is interference on the signal perhaps someone close by is on the Same channel

i live in the suburbs and constantly get bumped off my network because of neighbours wifi

have a look round for some wifi sniffing programs that can detect different networks in your area and the channel they are using.

Sometines the best options is jsut to get a better wifi antenna for your router.

yes.but the antenna matters alot thou.but also ur router need to be powerful for it to work good too.not just the booster
